DESIGN NAME: Zen Industry
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Zen
INSPIRATION: Stepping into the house, you will catch the first sight of fishpond and black iron-made stairs leading to the attic, the most eye-catching place. You may first feel surprised, and then calm down slowly, sit beside the fishpond, take off shoes and stare at the turtlet and fish inside the fishpond. This is the very effect we strive to achieve in the design. It will bring the owner atmosphere to relax once he returns home, making him slow down his pace to enjoy his life more joyfully.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: We believe that every design detail can affect the living of the owner. In this case, our main purpose is to abandon traditional styles and to mix simple contemporary styles and highlight a certain subject. In consideration of the opinion of the owner, we dismiss traditional Chinese decorative pattern, and resort to the matching of material colors to obtain the most appropriate zen sense.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: This case is highly difficult. The owner is an engineer, so he loves things with industrial flavor. However, he also wanted a warm home with zen sense. So we and the owner have taken more than four months for designing and modification to get the best effect.

CHALLENGE: The most difficult part of this project was to combine both contemporary and Zenism together in one living space. Although Zenism connotes traditional, ordinary and dull, the modern thinking of our client perfectly conjoint both elements.
