INSPIRATION: Play the local geographical elements, use the environment-friendly materials, and create an ecological, inexpensive, quickly-built modern space. Adopt steel wire and effective way nodes play their creativity and build a flexible structure of space
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Regarding the design of flexible space of bamboos, it is mainly about how to use their excellent properties and how to overcome their existing defects to have a reasonable connection structure and create a lightweight flexible structures exhibition space in a very short period of time through a small number of tools and simple processing methods. Bamboos being as ecological materials have great ecological significance to environmental protection and sustainable development
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Use and combine bamboo and bamboo plywood to form a basic pattern through the original connection way. By the spatial variation of the same pitch and different sizes and the role of steel in the connection lines, a simple, effective and stable space system can be quickly built for a variety of display space themes, and present a complete space program under the background of eco-design
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in April 2015 in Chengdu and finished in June 2015 in Chengdu, and was exhibited in the College of Architecture Southwest Jiaotong university, Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China in June 2015

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Bamboos, as an eco-friendly material, with its own light weight and high flexibility characteristics, play an important role when building lightweight space. The way of using steel wire to connect reflects the features of the whole flexible structure space

CHALLENGE: In order to solve the problem that destroying the cylindrical structure of bamboo can cause the overall breakdown. We tighten the grooved upper and lower part with medal rings, and use plywood to connect between bamboo and bamboo at a brand new way. Through steel connection, each bamboo component can form a flexible connection structure, to achieve the purpose of quickly establishment.
