DESIGN NAME: Panda
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Animation Video
INSPIRATION: It's all the music! The music has inspired every detail of the video, even though this is pretty much what's going on in my head at most times. And truth be told, for all the background music to the constant whimsical illusions in my head, Nischay's music just fits. This video couldn't have come to us at a better time. Don't you feel that art just flows better when one is fully connected to the subject? In this case, the music.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: I remember Panda being one of the first music videos I was working on, entirely independently - because Nischay Parekh bestowed his trust in us. Keeping all those constrains, or liberties how I saw it, in mind - the idea was simple enough to make with just one camera and the band in front of it - anywhere it felt nice. Our team really brought to life a very vivid imagination which allows the viewer to perceive the music through their own individualistic sensibilities with the aid of art.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This is film is about an imaginary world that probably exists if you shut your eyes and really try to feel pure music.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project went on for about the span of a year, however work was spread out through the course of it. The film was shot in Kolkata, India and the animation was done in Mumbai, India.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: This was a feeling based project. Our Director and DOP hose the right location after much screening around the city of Kolkata.
CHALLENGE: Since one had to express and undefinable feeling through visuals and drawings over a video, a lot of sketches and colour templates were made to hit upon the right characters, styles and techniques to explain a certain kind of feeling. The hardest part was finding the right balance through all he chaos and I think we achieved it beautifully.
