PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Ring
INSPIRATION: new technologies and possibilities of controlled processes occurring in metal.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Using two extremely different techniques of finishing a surface in making one ring. Achieving strong contrast which will give special value turning the whole composition into a harmonious object.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The structure of rust as a controlled process used for combining two materials into a stylistically homogeneous object.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started and finished in March 2015 in Warsaw. Prepared for the competition "Mercurius Gedanensis"(received honourable mention in the category: Workmanship Excellence on "Amberif" fair in GdaĆsk, Poland.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Classical and experimental techniques of crafting and controlling the process of rust, normally used in modern architecture of interior design. Standard goldsmithing techniques.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: New technologies of finishing the structure of metal in jewellery. Rust as an aesthetic value of jewellery, possible to cover every metal and stone and as a natural (but controlled)process occurring in metal.
CHALLENGE: An attempt to connection of steel and amber in a harmony single subject , and to preserve the purity of forms to a explicit contrast in a ring.
Classical pure form of metal and stone and rusted structure of metal covering also the surface of the stone in unnatural way.
Rust (in a controlled process)as a new structure and form of expression in artistic jewellery.
