| DESIGN NAME: Rotron PRIMARY FUNCTION: Watch INSPIRATION: The design of this wrist watch, was inspired by design style of a science fiction film: Tron(legacy),which was so effective that in 2011, leading to collective action in the field of industrial design and exhibit some new products based on the same design style at Milan design week; many products today are designed based on this style, such as furniture, bath and etc. but Personal products designed for readers interested in this kind of style and design is empty. Products such as watches. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This watch is Inspired by Tron style’s features Minimalist and simple form Shiny and smooth material Screen can be seen along the wristlet and when the screen is off, it is pleasant and homogeneity in the whole form of the watch. Tron Light Disc Form Tron colored lights Delete button Fits the teaxtures in Tron style Swivel to control OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Setting watch, accessing to menus and buttons with difficult details has been removed, only the rotating disc the front page, project relevant information on the screen, which reduce the complexity of the buttons and watch setting is quite minimalist by this simple way has been replaced. Only with a circular motion, using all functionality is possible. Features such as display time, date, recording and playing sound, and using lighting disc as a flashlight, with adjustable light intensity. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in september 2014 in Tehran and finished in February 2015 in Tehran, and was exhibited in Tehran University. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Watchband is made of rubber Shiny and smooth metal surface Manufactured by plastic injection Nigel Cross Methodology is used in this work to achieve the desired output. This method is composed of 7 successive stages as follows 1- Clarifying Objectives 2- Establishing Functions 3- Setting Requirements 4- Determining Characteristics 5- Generating Alternatives 6- Evaluating Alternatives 7- Improving Details SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Watchband length equal to 22 cm The screen size of 42 * 42 cm is suitable for most wrist sizes of ladies and gentlemen, and today more watches are offered with such a scale. TAGS: minimal, Tron, Wrist watch, personal things, rotating ring RESEARCH ABSTRACT: first by objective tree, we show general features we have in mind. Next, find main function, sub functions. then limits, and what it must be. Next separate wishes and demands. then determine characteristics, Which we have to develop a relationship with customer by questionnaires and interviews, to achieve needs in general and for Tron fans. by competitor, find out main technical specifications, show them in a quality house. then we consider alternatives, rating them and start sketching. CHALLENGE: understanding the characteristics of existing competitors which is important for users, had little information for designing, because of differences in approach. So we further derive the general requirements in relation to a watch, we collected needs of the client separately from the questionnaire and send to enthusiasts of this genre. the most important issues was creating different interactive for the user, much different than Sony watch, Apple watch and etc. ADDED DATE: 2015-03-01 04:21:13 TEAM MEMBERS (1) : IMAGE CREDITS: Image #1: view of screen while it is on and the user is using watch.
