DESIGN NAME: Radisson Blu Marrakech Rooms
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Hotel Rooms
INSPIRATION: The harmonious blend between ethnic patterns and Arab Islamic geometric shapes is also a major aspect of the design.
Geometrics are distorted and grossly enlarged, creating full and empty spaces as in the closet,
contrasting with primitive ethnic patterns on the wallpaper.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: A contemporary understanding of interactions between spaces and functions combined with a fair interpretation of Morrocan heritage.
Lotfi Sidirahal started with the layout design before looking for the aesthetic DNA. He first tried to repeal the separation between bathroom and bedroom, rawing on a typical object of the eastern Arab language: the Moucharabieh screen. He turned it as a central design statement in the room. The sliding screen cuts a white monolithic bloc, creating a subtle separation between the different areas.
