DESIGN NAME: Eyebee Talent Swarm
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Collaborative Cloud 3D World for Working
INSPIRATION: The main problem that large engineering companies have is finding the best global talent for their engineering and construction projects world wide, and although webs such as Linkedin definitively help attract many into their large “web”, these candidates have not been independently vetted or certified. Their real knowledge or actual experience may vary widely from what the resumé may say, as they say in Spanish “the page will support anything”, as well as the difficulties inherent with moving the talent to where you actually need it to perform the work.
The disruptive project that is born from this established company seeking the best way to position itself squarely in the futuristic talent offerings is Talent Swarm. Talent Swarm is a combination of a 3D environment with the latest online gaming technology but designed to do real engineering work. In this virtual work, the participants have been filtered so that only the best talent is available for the engineering and aerospace companies, and they may work remotely from anywhere in the world. Work permits and even employment contracts may end up being a thing of the past, as one may hire the best talent on an hourly basis 24x7.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Talent Swarm(R) proposes a Collaborative Work Environment (CWE) that combines engineering design software with a super realistic 3D gaming-like environment, allowing the use of a global talent pool and an integrated catalog of parts, from design to facilities management for the petrochemical, industrial, aeronautical industries and large building construction. Designers can talk to each other and work on a refinery design from inside the model, pulling parts from an online catalog of equipment suppliers.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The operation is very simple to a video game, but is intended to do real engineering work.
You may either use total visual immersion technologies like Oculus Rift, PC or Smartphone interfaces.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Based on an original and proprietary “big data” structure, and living in the cloud in a Software as a Service (SaaS) model, or if the client prefers on its own secure in-house servers, the development is slated to be done in Spain with the most extreme attention to robustness, power and ease of use in order to present a test platform for initial clients in the second quarter of 2015. The corporate headquarters and sales and marketing will be based in Silicon Valley to give scalability and world reach to the project. Recognizing the value of this initiative, the Spanish Ministry of Industry has already provided seed funds and Talent Swarm has been selected as one of the 12 best technological initiatives coming from Spain, and recently atended an “immersion program” in Silicon Valley sponsored by ICEX, Red.es and the Banco Santander.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Software as a Service (SaaS) cloud-based platform that allows a virtually unlimited number of workers to interact. There are also Google-glass type devices that allow local workers to send back to others real-time images of the work being performed, as well as saving these videos on a big-data archival for future instant retrieval.

(The TS logo is inspired in this behavior) The 40 year technical services experience of Dynatec, and their existing 240 employee company, provides them with intimate knowledge of the needs of large engineering and equipment procurement companies.
Per its founders, Talent Swarm seeks to be the leading provider in the Building Information Modeling (BIM) sector, providing the following 5 main functions:
1. Marketplace for Equipment Suppliers and Qualified Engineering and Construction Talent
2. Collaborative Work Environment (CWE or WorldWideWork) that allows designers and field workers to communicate from within the model, or between the office and the work site in a rich, real-time manner.
3. 2-way Connections to the major 3D design suites from AutoDesk, Intergraph PDS and SmartPlant3D, AVEVA and Dassault CATIA, as well as simulation software for editing and improvements, allowing the use of all existing plans.
4. Procurement and Construction/Assembly Platform visually-oriented and modernized for the 21st century, for industries that have lagged in technology adoption.
5. Facilities Management that provides a historical log from initial design to client hand off for a lower total cost of ownership from efficient maintenance.
CHALLENGE: Our calling is to create and implement disruptive projects that solve real needs and improve people´s lives using technology, applied in a robust, powerful and easy-to-use way.
