| DESIGN NAME: Thorny Tulip PRIMARY FUNCTION: Ring & Pendant INSPIRATION: Thorny Tulip's design is not based on a real flower, but mostly mixture of the two: Rose and Tulip. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Most of the times in floral jewelry designs thorns are ignored because they are sharp or pointy. But in "Thorny Tulip" collection, thorns are the most important visual elements and get the most focus. So instead of making the thorns too dull, thorns has been placed carefully along the stem in an arrangement that keep them out from irritating the skin. As a result it creates a bold and beautiful contrast seeing pointy golden thorns side by side the delicateness of human body skin. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: It creates a bold and beautiful contrast seeing pointy golden thorns side by side the delicateness of human body skin. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in late Oct 2014 in Tehran,Iran and finished in Feb 2015 in Tehran. And expected to be available to the market by April 2015. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: This design has been modeled with Gemvision Matrix 8. 3ِD-printed in wax by Envisiontec 3D printer. And finally produced by casting process. The materials are 18K polished yellow gold and and brilliant cut diamonds. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Precious metal: 18K yellow gold Diamonds: White brilliant cut 2Ct Ring Diameter: 18 mm Pendant Length: 56mm TAGS: Flower, Jewelry, Ring, Pendant, Diamond, Tulip, Rose, Floral, Golden, RESEARCH ABSTRACT: - CHALLENGE: The most challenging part was to place thorns along the stem carefully in a fashion that prevents any chance of injury to the skin.
