| DESIGN NAME: Tria PRIMARY FUNCTION: Upright Vacuum Cleaner INSPIRATION: Tria has been designed after long-term observations in order to resolve multi-functional use and storage problem of upright vacuum cleaners. Tria’s patent pending curved telescobic tube system design provides 3 functions in 1 system. It can be used as an upright vacuum clenear at differents heights and also can be transformed to an handheld vacuum cleaner easily. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Tria possesses a triangular nozzle that can make suction from three different points. Moreover, this triangular nozzle can be taken out with a single soft movement and Tria acts as a hand-held vacuum cleaner. When desired, the tube can be adjusted to the desired height with a single movement to be used as an upright vacuum cleaner. In whatever manner used, it can be transformed into and stored in a compact form owing to its telescopic tube that can be inserted into the body-frame and the foldable handle. In this manner, Tria does not occupy much space by easily being hidden in any location OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Thanks to the telescobic tube and fold in handle , it can be used and stored at different heights.The triangular nozzle that can make suction from three points can cover an angle of 79 degrees and enables cleaning parallel to the walls, hard-to-clean borders and sharp corners can also be cleaned effortlessly.The receptacle with the double-filter system inside can be taken out and re-inserted with a single hand and can be easily cleaned. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Project started in December 2013. It will be launched in April 2015 in Europe.Never shown in public before due to secrecy of the patent application period. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The Aluminiumm telescobic tube goes into a bending process to fit the exact arc of the main body. The recyclable plastic parts are produced in injection machines. The joint where the handle folds, we designed a special locking mechanism that is to be produced with PA%50GFR . SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Product dimensions are 1070 x 230 x 220 mm in upright position. It is possible to set the height from 1070 mm to 825 mm. In handheld usage the dimensions are 525 x 140 x 155mm. TAGS: Upright, Vacuum Cleaner, Telescobic tube, Practical, Cleaning, Hepa filter RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Tria has been designed after long-term observations on consumers using different types of vacuum cleaners. The surveys show that expectations are ever-changing for the sake of utilizing time in a fast and efficient manner. In the past, there was a single vacuum cleaner used to perform the overall cleaning of the house, whereas nowadays, the upright cleaners take their place providing more practical solutions. Especially in the modern city life, the square meter size of the houses are getting smaller, thus a second vacuum cleaner has started to be used which however resulted in storage problems. To be able to solve the need of multi-functional use and storage problem, Tria was born. CHALLENGE: The telescopic tube positioned inside the body-frame of Tria move over an arch, known as the “curved telescobic bend”. In fact, being able to resolve this delicate structure was one of the most challenging issues.The telecobic pipe itself and the integrated parts on the main body had to be designed and manufactured very precisely.
