| DESIGN NAME: UnveilRing PRIMARY FUNCTION: Ring INSPIRATION: Inspired by unwrapping & peeling concepts like unwrapping a gift, unwrapping a chocolate bar ,opening a canned food , peeling a corn or fruits. In general the concept of unveiling something precious ,delicate and secured. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Gold is one of the most precious materials, and using it in shape of a packaging and container makes the little gems look even more valuable in a subtle manner, to convey the message that they are the main attraction. By showing off the first rows it creates the illusion that there should be more gem stones under the unpeeled surface. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: - PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in late DEC 2014 in Tehran,Iran and now (FEB 2015) in the last production phase waiting for the diamonds setting to be installed and expected to be available to the market by April 2015. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: This design has been modeled with Gemvision Matrix 8.0. 3ِD-printed in wax by Envisiontec 3D printer. And finally produced by casting process. The material is 18K yellow and white gold and brilliant cut diamonds. (and Princess cut in some models) SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Diameter: 20 mm Length: 20 mm width : 10mm TAGS: Unveil, Ring, Golden, Diamond, Black, Jewelry, RESEARCH ABSTRACT: - CHALLENGE: During the development the most challenging part was devising the right way of putting diamonds inside to make it look like they were already inside. So after some trial and error we found it. I designed the bottom part of ring separable so that there was a clear path from underneath to put the diamonds setting inside where that is not visible to the eye .
