| DESIGN NAME: Eryigit PRIMARY FUNCTION: Hospital Bed INSPIRATION: The inspiration for this project came from the creation of a highly flexible hospital bed with an efficient mechanism and compliance with standards. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Eryigit is a new generation, reciprocating hospital bed with improved ergonomics and maneuverability with significant impact on decrease in tooling costs. The main body of the design is made by aluminum profiles and for their fixing and accessories,abs plastic and glass are used. The design lowers the production cost, since its structure consists of lots of identical parts. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Achieving optimized standards / compliance with new international standards, the low-slung bed easily converts into 9 different positions and the variable height descends low enough for wheelchair transfers to enable easy mount for the frail and elderly or for those with physical deficiencies. The transaction on the form on the corners of the streamlined base, prevents lose on height resulted from wheels. Since patients disliked the cage feeling of bed rails, for sidewalls, translucent glass is used in order to mitigate that claustrophobic feeling. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Used materials are aluminum profiles, cast aluminum, injected ABS plastic and glass. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Product Dimension: Width 1035 mm x Depth 2090 mm x Height min 800mm-max 1100mm TAGS: bed, hospital bed, ergonomic design, identical parts, low cost, easy mount RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Extensive insight on the existing hospital beds, their problems during use, the user and the technical limitations was acquired from the manufacturer company. Extra attention was paid to the comfort of the user with the complementary accessories such as the moving tray, cabinets etc. CHALLENGE: The challenge was to create a modern, high quality hospital bed that could be produced with compliance to new standards.
