| DESIGN NAME: Panfold PRIMARY FUNCTION: Camping Pan INSPIRATION: The absence of a portable and functional pan that can satisfied user's cooking needs at outdoor activities is the reason and motivation of Panfold project. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Panfold is an innovative cookware system; designed for nature lovers on camping, picnic, climbing, fishing and any other outdoor activities. The portable cooking pan consists of aluminum alloy cast body, foldable legs, locking ring and foldable wooden handle while using aluminum foil pot as a food carrier. It has 25 cm long handle at total and sizes of 14 cm width, 21 cm length and changing depth. Top flat surface with screw pitch and butterfly screw placed at the bottom provide the change in height, so; different depth of aluminum pots can be used in the system. The system performs with two different heat source. In case of lack of fire obtained by wood or heath, and for cooking with smaller pots the legs are folded and aluminum foil pot is placed on the legs and the food in pot is cooked with gel fire which takes place on top flat surface. Using of aluminum alloy makes Panfold solid and light. With its light, foldable and space saving design, nature lovers can carry this environmental friendly pan anywhere conveniently in their backpacks. Its organic curves and high-end look reflects use in nature and its functions. The set including foldable pan and three boxes of gel fire can fit into a small box all together. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Panfold can be used every user with easily thanks to project's minimalist design approach, simple mechanism and flexible handle. Panfold that has distinct functions from pans in the market, provides not just only easy usage but also huge utilization area. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: It was designed in November 2014 in Ankara. |

Both professional and campers who barely go field are requested not only filling the survey but also answering the interview questions. CHALLENGE: Because of Panfold is a product with huge usage area, it is a bit challenging to design the pan suitable and safe for different usage and regulations.
