DESIGN NAME: I-Cube
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Water Packaging
INSPIRATION: Water package is inspired by the volume and space effective cube form as a water container.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: In order to promote the use of the new, BPA-free plastic material developed by Sasa Polyester, the I-Cube water bottle is designed to replace traditional polycarbonate and glass water packages. Combining an innovative and hygienic material with a lightweight and compact design, the bottle aims for increased convenience of the user. Employing a supercircle profile, I-Cube saves space and energy by carrying more water in the same base area than the cylindrical bottles.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The product is delivered through the water brand and recollected at the end of the use for refill. Deposit system works well with a sustainable, durable water container that is also easy to use with the carrying sleeve.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project is completed in Ankara between 2013-2014 within 6 months.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Injection Blow Molding, BPA Free Plastic, (Tg)(DSC): > 85 0C, Melting Temp: 2000C - 2550C
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Design presents a sustainable solution by eliminating the labels with adhesives through the use of recyclable textile with customizable graphics. Offered with a carrying sleeve, I-Cube is available in three sizes as 10, 15 and 19 liters.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Existing water consumption patterns including purchasing, transportation and use processes were examined in order to create an innovative water package with a better performance.
CHALLENGE: The challenge was to create innovation in a rather strict area; the water market and business and to develop a behavior changing product that enables a more convenient use and allows to change the existing usage patterns. Therefore, the aim of the package was to create market advantage for the brand as well.
