DESIGN NAME: Hooks
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Coat Hanger
INSPIRATION: The idea behind this object was taken from a simple exercise of cutting and bending sheets of paper, making use of its bidimensionatily. It was the search for the simplest action that triggered the best result, being later on converted into its final form.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The central aspect of the Hooks coat hanger is the strict relation between function and form. The simple and practical design is enriched by the contrast ratio between light and shadow. It is made up of a single component, making it a simple, functional and elegant object. Only what is truly needed is present, so that the object performs its intended task.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Hooks coat hanger is a simple and functional equipment that has several hooks with different heights, so that the user can hang not only coats or clothing but also purses or backpacks. This simple caracteristic enables the user to access both kinds of items without the interferance of the other.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Hooks is constructed by a process of cutting sheets of metal by laser technology and bending. After the aplication of anti-corrosion treatment by heat-cured powder coating. Includes two black rubber stoppers in its back to serve as contact points with the wall.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Iron sheet with 1.5 mm thick thermo-lacquered with 135mm x 400mm dimensions x 1800m.
Fully built in iron sheet with anti-corrosion treatment by electrostatic termal hardened paint.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Hooks was created using a simple exercise of cutting and folding paper, creating models to test various possibilities for the product . These miniatures where then modeled using a 3D CAD program to create the final form.
CHALLENGE: Obtaining a practical product, functional and elegant with reduced invenstiment, especially cheap and recyclable raw materials and low energy production cost.
