DESIGN NAME: Soul Ring
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Ring
INSPIRATION: This is a time when magical things happen all around us. My mission as a jeweller is to observe the world around us and see sources of inspiration to develop or build on, in everything, even the silence. This is what I am doing in this collection called The Sounds of Silence. Look and listen deep into the heart of Riga, its people. Look into her eyes and pass your gaze over her veins, her breath, and the curves of her body. You will be surprised at how rich and beautiful her thousand year melody is.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Soul Ring design is based on Latvian ethnographic ornaments; however, this heritage is presented in a different light, with different means of expression , unusual gemstones, precious metals. ANITA SONDORE has endowed the already beautiful heritage with other, new traits, creating striking, unusual forms and colour combinations by using gold, diamonds, tourmaline.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Its very comfortable in wearing. Can be worn in conjunction with the Diamond Moonlight Ring from Sounds of Silence collection.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The source of research when designing the Soul Ring was Riga's phenomenal Art Novau architecture. The Latvian ethnographic heritage -ornaments, folk songs and Latvian's symbols of power was also explored.
CHALLENGE: When created the Soul Ring , I wanted to rediscover for myself and also to tell the world- who I am , what is my values , what is touching my soul ,from where I come, what can be our added value to the world .Our cultural heritage is very rich and much appreciated also nowadays, but in the Soul ring we wanted not to make the replica of historical signs , but investigate the meaning and look of it through the eyes of contemporary Latvian. We wanted to create a piece which could be worn by women of all generations, given from mother to daughter.
