DESIGN NAME: The Tee- Pant
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Adaptable Clothing
INSPIRATION: The Tee Pant was inspired by travelling, encountering different environments and many changes of clothing are needed.
I wanted to develop a product that can be two opposite products needed whilst travelling, leading me to think of trousers and a top. I thought it would be original to be able to wear your top as trousers and vice versa. The Tee Pant encompasses 20 different outfits whilst only needing to pack one item adapting to everything whether that that be trekking, partying or just chilling out.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Tee Pant is the ultimate travelling item. The Tee Pant is unique as it can be worn as the opposite garments, a tee shirt and pants.
The Tee Pant can be transformed by the use of buttons and tie strings into 20 completely different outfits. The adaptability of this product makes it unique and original and solves travellers packing problems.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The Tee-Pant is one product that can be worn in 20 different ways. Different outfits are achieved by wearing the Tee-pant either as a jumpsuit/trouser/pant, which means legs are placed through the trouser legs and buttons are in the crotch.
The opposite outfit; a top is creating by placing the tee-pant upside down and opening up the buttons and placing over head. The different outfits are simple to create, the idea is that you can quickly transform to the outfit that you need whenever you need it.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The Tee-pant was created within Kameleon Rose studio in Madagascar. The design was originally conceived in 2014 and finalised in 2015.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Qualitative market Research. We studied the market and assessed the need for adaptable clothing for travellers
Objective. Does the Tee-pant provide a solution for travellers clothing?
Methodology. 5 backpackers tested the tee-pant whilst they travelled
Data collection. Photos and product reviews made by participants
Results, tee-pant prototype improved with feedback
CHALLENGE: It took a long creative process to achieve the final Tee-pant prototype, the main creative obstacle was creating the perfect pattern that could be a beautiful cut as two opposite outfits, a top and trouser. I had to find a balance in dimensions, such as the perfect trouser length and width to also be a sleeve. The external factors were finding the right factory that fitted the profile of fair conditions and the flexibility to also produce smaller quantities.
