DESIGN NAME: Qin Service Center
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Service Center
INSPIRATION: The overlapping and flowing features of clouds are re-interpreted and converted into a workable design element in the reception area, while the zigzag, repeated, extendable features of sound waves are applied and form the floor-to-ceiling partitions in the meeting area.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The ceiling of the lobby extends to the overlapping and flowing wall panels, giving the stone wall a cloud-wreathed effect. The contrast of colors and texture give rise to their own secret rhythms. Inside, gaps were deliberately left in the wooden walls to introduce silvers of light, which forms a warm and serene space. The timber strips of the partition were curved to create a 3D effect as well. The rhetoric of space created layers upon layers that expressed the many possibilities of design.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The project servers a place in which visitors can understand more about the new housing development. With the visually 3-dimensional space design, people would yearn for a better style of living with aesthetics and functionality.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: -
CHALLENGE: The challenge of the project is to convert natural phenomenon into workable design elements, and then display an inviting and remarkable appearance. Therefore, with the starting point of nature, all the elements in the sky, on the ground, and those in-between are taken into account. Meanwhile, the meaning of home is reviewed after analyzing the client and users.
