RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The original piece was a simple cylinder with holes on top through witch the butter oozed. I loved the way that escapes from the plastic container that often appears on restaurant tables. Once the restaurant closed, I've tried to search for that butter dish but it was nowhere to be found.. So, I had to make mine... First in silver, believe it or not... but the piece was to fragile to be made anywhere else. From there, it was trial and error until the final design, here presented.
CHALLENGE: Designing an object is always difficult. You have to study hard all about the materials and techniques involved in your idea, and never be certain that it will work or even sell... You have to control very well the cost of the piece and understand not only about it's design, but it's marketing, image, packaging, etc... And then... Expose your creation (and a piece of you) to the world...
