| DESIGN NAME: Love and Celebration PRIMARY FUNCTION: Painting INSPIRATION: Paintings based on Osho quotes on Love. One can be in deep love and yet be alone. In fact, one can be alone only when one is in deep love. The depth of love creates a deep ocean around you and you become an utterly alone island. The ocean goes on throwing its waves on your shore but the more the ocean crashes with its waves on your shore the more integrated and the more centered you are. Love has value only because it gives you aloneness. It gives you space enough to be on your own. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Love Is a Door. If you want to taste the experience of existence, it is not via the other, it is a direct jump within yourself. It is via you, through you. And only love and its failure can throw you inside. It is because of the other that they have been able to see their own selves; the other has become a mirror in which they are reflected. Lovers are mirrors to each other. Love makes you aware of your original face. Nothing else can throw you inside, because everything else is far below love. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The body, the mind and his eternal self are the three layers of human individual. Love can exist on all the three planes but its qualities will be different. Most people stop at physical level. Some try to move on to the next level. But very few become love. Love is not just being together but it is a state of mind. It is eternal bliss and the smile blossoms within. That love can only be called lovingness and you don’t need the other person to celebrate. It is the song of silence. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Love basically is a state of being. One is not in love but one is love. And that love arises not by falling in love with somebody. That love arises by going in and soaring upwards higher than you. It is a kind of surpassing. A human is love when his being is silent. It is the song of silence. Love makes no conditions. Love is like breathing. When it happens you are simply love. You are the celebration. Here is the attempt to pour these feelings on Canvas or Oilpaper with Acrylic medium. RESEARCH ABSTRACT: There is a tremendous difference between loneliness and aloneness. When you are lonely you are missing the other. Loneliness is a negative state. Loneliness is absence of the other. Real Love Is Capable of Being Alone. Aloneness means you have fallen in love with yourself. Aloneness is the presence of oneself. Aloneness is very positive. It is an overflowing presence. You are so full of presence that you can fill the whole universe with your presence and there is no need for anybody to celebrate. CHALLENGE: These paintings are based on Oshos quotes on love. Quotes such as Love is a door and Love is basically a state of being or one has to be alone to be in state of love. There is a difference in being lonely and being alone. Loneliness is sad while aloneness is joy within. There is a thin line to showcase two of these states of minds. NAME: Ketan Jawdekar PROFILE: Art is a gift that has been given to Ketan Jawdekar by his father, who is an artist and by his mother, who is a classical singer. Ketan, has been painting since childhood and has bagged many accolades at the State and National level competitions in his early academic career. Instead of fine arts, he opted for the 'Mother of all Arts' -Architecture, as a career. Today, he is a successful and well- known Architect and has created noteworthy structures in Architecture and has designed some world-class interiors. While his profession has gone digital, he still believes in hand sketches. Yet, he finds time to go back to nature with his sketchbook and often paints in his studio. His work mainly comprises of contemporary paintings in a variety of subjects including Still life, Landscape, various aspects of the man-made environment and also the abstracts. He believes that nature is the best Guru and has taken much of his inspiration from the countryside and architecture of Indian Cities, particularly in Mumbai, Pune and Kolhapur. The paintings have been created from things seen, although, the end results are not slavish copies of what has been seen. Some, are even abstract. His painting style; embodies colour and the tactile qualities of paint, The marks, free paint, beautiful use of black and the architectural strokes become fields, structures, wood and the sky. They relate and connect with feelings, moods, emotions and reactions to the different aspects of the visual world. Dramatic viewpoints, strong shapes, forceful line strokes, contrast and the linear movement typify his work. His paintings are on display in places like - Oakwood Residence, Double Tree by Hilton at Pune, Trikaya, Nebula, PopTates, Solaris Developers, Samartha Developers and in numerous private art collections. “Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.” Well – known Architect and artist – Ketan Jawdekar, rightly proves the thought of a great artist – Thomas Merton, through his paintings.
