RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Among other topics, we are in constant search of prehispanic symbolism and meaning so that we can implement in our pieces. Particularly the Maya iconography, has very clear and strong lines, which give character to our designs and in addition to this, we emphasize with reliefs on the surface of the furniture.
CHALLENGE: Because some traditions and symbols of our history are disappearing, it is difficult to find information on these topics, so we took on the task of recovering some and apply them to our pieces. We feel a responsibility to ensure that this important part of our culture doesn't perish, all of this from our field of work.
Incorporating these Iconography is a first step of our project, we are currently looking for artisans to work with us to incorporate old traditions with modern materials and techniques.
