| DESIGN NAME: Scarlet Ibis PRIMARY FUNCTION: Visual Art INSPIRATION: The scarlet ibis also known as red heron, but in my region we call them Corocoro Rojo. It's a bird native to South America that lives along the coast and wetlands in northern Venezuela. Their habitat includes estuaries, lagoons and mangroves where they live in groups, their prominent color creates a beautiful contrast with the landscape that becomes a real feast for the for the viewer. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The design consists of five different illustrations in bright colors that develop in a natural environment combining real and imaginary elements that provide unique and fun features. The design aims to highlight the beauty of the tropical fauna centered on the graceful flight and vibrant color of the Scarlet Ibis. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The interaction between this design and the viewer is a matter of feelings. The main thing is to get the attention through each elements and colors within the composition. The designer recommend to use this artwork as picture framed for longer life, the design also has the advantage that can be printed with different techniques and materials gaining quality and artistic value. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This project began in September and ends in late November 2013 in Venezuela. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Digital printing and offset printing. The illustrations show different own natural scenes of these birds. The idea was to create images that stand out the graceful flight of Scarlet Ibis and the spectacular tropical scenery of Venezuela. This design is adaptable to different sizes and materials such as canvas, acrylic, metal, paper, textiles and others. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: This is a digital design made entirely in computer through painting, drawing and vectors. Their size is variable to suit different tastes and usages. The packaging and transportation also depends on the size either framed or rolled in a tube for greater manageability. The original artwork size Width 1016 mm x Depth 63 mm x Height 760 mm TAGS: Visual Art, Digital painting, Print art, Frame, Nature, Birds, Scarlet Ibis, RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The observation of nature is the primary tool for this job, because the main objective is to capture the characteristics of the birds like colors, motions and poses to give it life and get the harmony to the whole composition. In terms of methodology to interact with the birds was the best, but the research, photography and videos about its habitat are also great help to understand the behavior of these birds, even the imagination and personal emotions tend to actively mix to complete the project. CHALLENGE: The hardest thing so far was to get create the pose in motion for it to look real and to harmonize with the naive and playful style. The experiment with color was another challenge, the Scarlet Ibis seems to be saturated but it is the real color, that vivid color is the most impressive feature of this bird.
