| DESIGN NAME: "Triangles in (E)motion" PRIMARY FUNCTION: Dining Table INSPIRATION: specially architecture & geometric-art (concrete art). UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: the tables "Carrousel" OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: this object can be operated with publication in magazines, also with intelligent analyses & text in books, film etc. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project "Triangles in (E)motion" was started in 26/09/2006 in 9680 Maarkedal and is - of course together with many other projects- in constant evolution. The "Carrousel table"was exposed at the 6th Design triennial "Belgium is design", Hornu Images, Grand Hornu: 21/11/2010 to 27/02/2011. The "Cathedral table" is permanently exposed in the 3 Michelin-stars restaurant of Peter Goossens "Hof van Cleve". FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Furniture Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: hand made & computer drived woodwork; MDF (medium) lacquered & MDF veneered American cherry. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The "Carrousel table" mesure 189 X 182 X 75 cm. height and is realized in MDF (medium) lacquered; the "Cathedral table" mesure 100 X 86,6 X 75 cm. height and is realized in MDF (medium- veneered American cherry. TAGS: simple, clearly, timeless, spiritual... RESEARCH ABSTRACT: As member of a family of wood-workers, I draw, create and realize furniture since I was 15 years old. I am interior-architect & designer but also a carpenter. I worked 1O years in the Wood-industry. As designer I am always on search to create objects with spirit and a soul. CHALLENGE: For me "the creative challenge" is to create my "own story"; on this way working on "Triangles in (E)motion was and is a great pleasure for me! My design is not complicated, the realization of the "Carrousel table" is very simple. The 6 parts of the top of the table are joint with top-connections in +/- 15 minutes.
