| DESIGN NAME: Sahiplex PRIMARY FUNCTION: Office Space INSPIRATION: Being a leader internet business, most of our colleagues work sitting in front of their computers. Especially the service developers and IT specialists are serving in extremely vigorous, fast moving and stressful environments. So, it’s needless to say that they would welcome relaxing and healthy working spaces, and a special area of their own to free their mind and restore the energy and motivation they need to productively resume work. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Design of Sahiplex facilities is unique, setting a quintessential model even for the leading IT companies worldwide. A number of customized spaces were created to make the workforce feel comfortable and boost their creativity even further. There is a tartan track, one of the rarest of its kind, surrounding the full perimeter of the new office building, for the employees to jog or walk. The facility also features the basketball court and gym. Special leisure and recreation rooms are available to refresh the minds of all to cope with densely packed work schedules. All of these amenities have positive impact on the motivation of our team. At Sahiplex the meeting rooms are equipped with intelligent systems, and a special room is also created with a rainforest atmosphere where the employees can pursue their brainstorming activities. Sahiplex have a studio for both Pilates and dance and professional trainers to help employees get in shape. Employees can travel inside the building on top of gingers and bicycles, and have access to free-of-charge snacks and drinks at any time they desire. sahibinden.com nurtures the idea that an organization cannot attain everlasting success unless its employees are happy and at peace with themselves and with their environment. Sound insulation, automatically controlled special lighting and curtain systems adjusted to daylight, the free kitchenette serving healthy food and beverages, the walking track surrounding the office, and the gym run by professional trainers to work out any time in the day on free-of-charge basis, are some of the amenities worth mentioning. In addition to ergonomically designed chairs, desks and tables ensuring a better body posture for sedentary work, we offer an environment with continuously optimized sound and noise levels. The medical room and a fully dedicated cleaning staff also serve for a healthier workplace. In Sahiplex, every individual enjoys an average fresh air volume of 35 – 45 m³/h that is way above the standards nationwide Turkey. Ambient noise level of 69,4 dBA in Sahiplex also outperform the Turkish standards (80dBA) to create a very quiet and relaxing working space. At 30 dBA, this figure is even lower in our meeting and managerial staff rooms, making it almost impossible to hear outdoor sounds. The entire lightning system of the facility is automated; the heating and cooling systems are also controlled by computers and timers. Thanks to its day light sensors, the curtains facing the main road can be automatically drawn. The benefits of technology as such make energy efficiency a very simple task to attain. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: It was a true challenge to fit an office building into a 120 m long elliptical space with the ceiling height of 290 cm and beams running at 260 cm high above the ground... SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The 5000 m2 leased space, covering two individual floors, created yet another challenge to make sure that the entire space is enjoyed by the staff. Mezzanine floors were added to amenity areas to provide extra space needed for outdoor activities. TAGS: Social, energetic, young, unique, inspiring, hardworking office RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The project was a perfect blend of space and material management. It is an up to date trial to create a working space as part of quality living. CHALLENGE: We wanted to accomplish the best for not only Turkey but for the region.
