| DESIGN NAME: Brugal Papá Andrés PRIMARY FUNCTION: Structural & Packaging Design INSPIRATION: The inspiration for the bottle design came from the royal crowns to communicate luxury and excellence while for the graphics the starting point was the exotic and attractive Caribbean architecture. The royal imaginary delivers the glamour and exclusivity to this beverage that was previously kept just to be enjoyed by the Brugal family members. This prestigious brand wanted to create a very unique identity for its bottle design as well as a magnificent box. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The bespoke bottle design resembles a King´s crown OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: A strong professional mixture allowed us to enrich the project, exchanging ideas and concepts while keeping in mind technical issues through the design process to assure that the design proposals were able to be manufactured. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The cristal decanter was designed by Tridimage and manufactured by the world renowned crystal manufacturer RCR in Sienna, Italy. An ornate metal neck collar graces its slender neck and a metal face plaque has been hand polished and finished with a sandblast engraving inspired by Dominican architecture and manufactured by the Glencairn Crystal Studio in Scotland. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 100 mm x 140 mm TAGS: packaging design, bottle design, rhum, spirts, brugal, tridimage RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The research was carried by structural and graphic designers and marketing directors. The geographical origin of the beverage was the key to discover the artistic value of the caribbean architecture and the royal crowns the inspiration for the bottle design. The source were books, personal photos and Google. CHALLENGE: This project was about designing the most precious treasure for the Brugal family. It had to be a respectful homage to the company´s founder, to honour his devoted dedication and passion to establish the most important Dominican Rum brand.
