| DESIGN NAME: Pearl PRIMARY FUNCTION: Bathroom Furniture Set INSPIRATION: Pearl bathroom furniture system, which achieves a light and contemporary approach for baths, is created with a concept that is based on the ability of creating durable products. The main idea of the bathroom collection inspires from creating functional storages and long life time of usage with its timeless design language and matterials. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The bathroom furniture set Pearl has 3 compenets which includes; mirror, Washbasin and Wall hang modules. Thea matterials used in this project has long time durability and slim edges & lines which is creating the main concept. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The bathroom furniture system has thiny edged lines around all peaces. Instead of using MDF on body, this product has an anti bacterial acrylic matterial and a functional solutions. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Project has started in Istanbul at the begining of 2012 and exhibited in Cersaie Bologna 2013 Fair first time. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: On the main body of the solid matterials are using cream color which symbolise the purity. Sanitary ware system is using the matt glazed pergamon color, that combines with inox armatures. The lids of Pearl with the light appearance of ashwood tree is glazed with half transparent cream lacquerd which still points the solid wood waves. The mirror has its wooden structure and indirect lightining system which controles the power with a capacitive sensor. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Pearl wash basin cabinet has 115cm wide dimension that contains 2 peaces of drawers, also includes 1 peace of hidden drawer under the deck (next to washbasin). The solid acrylic based matterial of the body has an ultimate cleaning functionality bacause of a special solution of Kale Guard liquid veneering. Over the counter of wash basin; side and rear parts are covering the counter in a solid connection. Incase of water pours up around the counter occasiones, that keeps the liquied overflow. In that case the products should be hygienic, lobg life term, durable and of course stylish. With all these keywords the project methodology data collected with Kale design office and give a start. This furniture family product aims B plus & A segmentation with the design value that brings out. CHALLENGE: Matching the matt glazed color of sanitary ware (pergamon) and Acrylic cream needs a special color codes. Project needs to keep all different matterials in the same mood. As the color system differencies, production places are totally different. First step; constructing the solid body and add the wooden parts and accosseries (like drawers and special rail systems). Sanitary has its own facility which produces the right size into furniture. And the ultimate product is armature that completes the technical parts.
