| DESIGN NAME: Fallen Bird PRIMARY FUNCTION: Low Table INSPIRATION: I am inspired by music & particularly geometric-art, artistic expressions they help me to give my work spirit & a soul UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Just like Immanuel Kant, I start from an aesthetic idea that give my work its soul. I follow ever my own way: intuitively, emotionally and consciously involved in a specific theme.Triangles in (E)motion is a story who start from a solid geometric shape, a equilateral triangle, the first one which the points of support don't be cut. It distills various forms that can both serve as designs for stools, tables etc. but also be processed into abstract geometric entities which function as visual art OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: with publication in magazines, also with intelligent analyses & texts. Actually, cineast Gerrit Messiaen is hard working on a documentary about my work. He is a.o. the author of the fims "Lucien Hervè, photographer despite himself" "A journey with Paul Cox" etc. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project "Triangles in (E)motion" was started in 26/09/2006 in 9680 Maarkedal and is in constant evolution with p.e. different dining tables etc. One table was exposed at the 6th design triennial "belgium is design", Grand Hornu: 21/11/2010 to 27/02/2011. Another one is ever exposed in the 3-Michelin Stars restaurant "Hof van Cleve" chel: Peter Goossens. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Furniture Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: STOOL & FALLEN BIRD are realized by computer directed machinery. For the fabrication of STOOL I need 4 identical equilateral triangles in MDF 18 mm. thick, for 38 cm.height the triangles measure 46,55 X 46,55 X 46,55 cm; for 42 cm.height 46,55 X 42 X 51,45 cm. For FALLEN BIRD I need 6 triangles & 6 semi-triangles. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The 4 triangles of STOOL mesure 46,55 X 46,55 X 46,55 cm., height: 38 cm. Material: MDF natural varnished. FALLEN BIRD mesure 60 X 60 X 60 X 60 X 60 X 60 X 26,5 cm. height ( +/- 120 X 108 cm) height: 26,5 cm. Material: MDF satin lacquered. Package: cardboard box. TAGS: complex, not complicated, timeless, a little upward of "consumption&qu RESEARCH ABSTRACT: I am passionated by beauty, and draw, create and realize pieces of furniture since I was 15 years old - I am interior-archtect & designer- but also a carpenter. I am always on search to create timeless pieces of furniture with spirit and a soul. CHALLENGE: For me it's always a pleasure to work on my projects, I work and I am thinking all the theme but it's stay a beautiful hobby!
