DESIGN NAME: Droplet Collection
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Ring and Earring
INSPIRATION: The Droplet collection draws its inspiration from the serenity and beauty of water droplet. We are in touch with water droplets in our day to day life but often overlook the amazing quality of these small wonderful creation by Mother Nature. This collection explores the geometric aesthetics and the flexible formation of the droplet against surface such as leaves and stems, capturing its elegant marvel in a stop motion of time.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The collection is carefully designed in terms of material and technique to reflect its concept. The droplets are created mimicking the ancient granulation technique, hence representing an old skill in an innovative way. Fresh water pearls are integrated as droplet in the design, allowing a pleasant discovery surprise for the wearer. The Droplet ring and earrings can be turned 360 degree to show different facet of droplet formation, keeping the elegant design versatile on different occasions.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The collection design started in June 2012 and finished in June 2013.

Materials: 925 silver. 9ct yellow gold. Fresh water pearls.

Earring: 13.5mm x 50mm x 13mm (width x height x depth) for each side

CHALLENGE: The most challenging design aspect is to achieve a unique design that reflects the adaptability of water droplets through its form and curve, while incorporating fresh water pearls naturally into it creating an element of surprise.
