DESIGN NAME: The Rain Dress
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Urban Cycling Rainwear
INSPIRATION: I work and live in Amsterdam, a city of rain, bikes and fashion. I am a designer at a high end women’s fashion label. On a rainy day, while I was working on a dress that forms around the body, it got to me. I realized the dress I was working on had the potential to be rain wear. Although this item was purely designed as a fashion piece, it covers the body and legs and the open form lends itself to riding a bike. It seemed to make sense to turn this into a rain cape for cycling.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Besides keeping your clothes dry, the Rain Dress is perfect for urban fashion lovers. Wearing the Rain Dress, with it’s unique silhouette, you can walk out in the rain with confidence. Or take your bike, as it is the first raincoat ever to be especially engineered for bike riding. This user-friendly lightweight coat dries quickly after use and fits into its own pouch.
It is 100% waterproof, wind proof and made out of a breathable fabric. We sincerely believe it will encourage woman to always take the bike, healthy for the user but also for the planet.
