| DESIGN NAME: seating for stations PRIMARY FUNCTION: Seating INSPIRATION: The inspiration to create this project came during the waiting on the station. Sits can be other, with the form taken from nature. It gives the possibility to use less materials and more colors. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: seating for stations, which consist only of two identical parts. The back and seat are exactly the same. Front and rear legs are also the same. Thus, you should make only two parts. Less usage of materials and form of the seating for station are components of eco-design Very important part of design is ease of assembly and cheapness of transportation. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The visitors of the station can pass their time in comfortable circumstances, feeling pleasant emotions. Because seating consist of two equal parts it provides the possibility to assemble it in any way. It is very easy for transportation and packing. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in Autumn 2013 in Kyiv and finished in February 2014 in Odessa. But in general It took me only five evenings to create this project. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Traditional materials from wood, plywood, metal, MDF, plastic. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: length 920mm width 600mm height 925mm TAGS: Seating for station, eco-design, ease of assembly, cheapness of transportation RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Research consisted of connection of two identical parts to one construction. It was nesessary to design knot for fixing seat and back with leg. Its provided with flanges connected with back and seat. CHALLENGE: The most difficult part was to find the form of parts, with two functions: the back and the sit. The second difficulty was to connect the leg with the sit (back). The main feature is that our designs shall be functional, unfamiliar and at the same time simple and cheap in production.
