| DESIGN NAME: Intuo PRIMARY FUNCTION: Food Processor and Cooker INSPIRATION: My inspiration was to create a meaningful language between user and the product. The starting point was making user to enjoy it while using. I did not want user to command it, I wanted user to play with it. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Intuo is a food processor and a cooker offering intuitive interaction. It is designed to get rid of similar, monotonous and confusing buttons used to perform several physical actions and to offer different experience to the user. The aim of the product was to create an intuitive and pleasurable interaction with mimicking the related physical actions. The most important part of the product is the multifunctional control unit in front. User can twist it, press it, touch, tap, slide with finger, for short user can interact pleasurably. NAME: Aylin Alpay PROFILE: Aylin Alpay, 24 years old Turkish Industrial Designer, is one of the winners of A' Design Award. She is a fresh Industrial Designer from Midle East Technical University. As a consequence of the combination of east and west, her design understanding is quite inclusive, but specific at the same time. She believes that focusing on the experiece rather than product is the punch line of the issue. For her, this kind of thinking broadens the horizon of the designer, brings a more creative approach and reveals striking outcomes. Her key words are “experience” and “ vision”. |
