DESIGN NAME: Twig
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Stool, Bar Stool, Table
INSPIRATION: The interior of the rural house has developed by means of a very long history regarding function and estethics and wich unites the different geographic regions of our country.
The inside of the rural house is organised regarding more compositional and functional centers.Out of all of these compositional centers the dinning place is the only one wich is placed in the middle, due to this fact we decided to make the seatings and the top of the table round.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The legs of these objects replicate the roots and stem of a tree wich has it's treecrown transformed into a seat.
Asymmetry is an important feature, generated by the various heights where the legs take a loop to change direction and then come back again.
Twig is a collection of objects in wich asymmetry is an important feature, providing interesting astetichs and functionality resembeling also it's inspiration from the vegetal world.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Twig objects are made solely from wood using wood glue and wood tiples for asembly.
The design of the object provides the opportunity for great optimization of material, the loss of wood being greatly diminished.
The stools and table act as normal other similar products but the asymmetry provides a more interesting aestetichs and in the case of the bar stool transforms the loops of the legs in supports for the feet giving the user the liberty of choosing how low or how high he wants to keep his feet.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: We made an extensive research on the traditional three leged stools and other pieces of furniture that belong to the historical heritage of our people.
After studing the asembly of these traditional pieces we devised another method that would substitute the old ones in order to keep the bond visible but also renew it.
CHALLENGE: Making the form follow the function while providing material optimization and all these concluding into sturdy yet harmonious products.
