| DESIGN NAME: miscea KITCHEN PRIMARY FUNCTION: Sensor Faucet INSPIRATION: After much success with the original miscea CLASSIC system, many of our clients in healthcare and medical professions, loved the concept of a multi fluid sensor faucet for their home. Listening to their feedback, we wanted to develop a system that would better accommodate to the various tasks in the kitchen environment and take the user experience with sensor technology to a whole new level of enjoyment and convenience. The miscea KITCHEN is literally the world’s first multi fluid sensor faucet that is capable of dispensing up to 3 different fluids from one faucet – all completely touch free for maximum hand hygiene. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The miscea KITCHEN system is the world’s first truly touchless multi-liquid dispensing faucet. It combines two dispensers and a faucet into one unique and easy to use system, eliminating clutter around kitchen. A variety of high quality soaps, lotions, detergents and disinfectants can be used with the system. It features the fastest and most reliable sensor technology available on the market to readily and accurately respond to hand movements. Water volume is controlled using the smooth round water flow controller. An elegantly modern design together with a host of new benefits and conveniences, the miscea KITCHEN will certainly enhance any kitchen interior. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The miscea KITCHEN system is literally the world’s first multi fluid sensor faucet that is capable of dispensing up to 3 different fluids from one faucet – all completely touch free. The speed and accuracy of our sensor technology is years ahead of the industry, which means you have complete control over the system. You can switch on and off the water as you need it by passing our hand over the power symbol on the user display and the miscea faucet will respond immediately. That means no more awkward delays so you can move easily and more efficiently from task to task. Water temperature settings can also be adjusted completely touch free so you never actually have to touch the user display. Selecting fluids such as soap or detergent is also very simple. Just wave your hand over the droplet symbol, a green or yellow light will start blinking, and then wave your hand over the power symbol on the display. Customization such as the amount of soap or detergent dispensed can be adjusted to user preferences with the optional miscea remote control. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in March 2012 and finished a year later in Berlin. It was on display and launched at the ISH 2013 trade event in Frankfurt, Germany. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: miscea products feature advanced infrared (IR) technology for proximity hand detection. Years of experience and product R&D has helped miscea to effectively harness this technology and apply it to achieve a high level of reliability. Light reflections in the sink and other highly reflective surfaces, as well as changing environmental light conditions have all proven to be major challenges. The software algorhythm for filtering the detected signal played a major role in this. After many years of product optimization and development, we can proudly say, that we have the most reliable and fastest responding sensor faucet in the world. The miscea CLASSIC designed by Mathis Heller of Well Design, was ideal for use by professionals with a concern for a high standard of hand hygiene, however it lacked a number of functionalities that are considered important for use within the private kitchen environment - this lead miscea to develop the miscea KITCHEN system. During the development process, the new design of the miscea KITCHEN was tested to ensure it would meet the demands of the private kitchen environment while at the same time maintaining the aesthetics. NAME: miscea GmbH PROFILE: Founded in 2003 miscea GmbH is a privately held company based in Berlin, Germany. miscea specialises in the design and manufacture of state of the art sensor faucet systems. The company roots can be traced back to Augsburg, when in 1999, two engineers started the development of an improved dispensing system. The first miscea hand hygiene systems have been in operation since 2003 in high impact facilities such as medical and foodservice environments. In 2013 miscea launched the current generation of faucets incorporating the company’s accumulated experience over the previous years. In addition, 2 new product ranges were also introduced for use in different industries. miscea products are available in over 10 different countries and has business units located in the Netherlands, France, Germany, and Switzerland. |
