| DESIGN NAME: Live PRIMARY FUNCTION: Windows INSPIRATION: Uninterrupted views to the outside. Even the choice of the name: LIVE, evokes the philosophical thought that has accompanied product creation. Live the outside without "barriers" but protecting themselves from atmosferic agents UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Live window, with lift and slide opening, reaches the goal of a single window, even in the presence of two or three saches, which are typically interrupted by the vertical profiles of coupling. This extraordinary result is achieved thanks to the use of a different material employed for the forth side of the wood frame, alloy mineral, which enables the reduction of the coupling between the saches, from 90-110mm to only 17mm, and invisible from the internal and external front view. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Live window with the ability to customize the outside, both on the glass of the frame, with RAL color or wood effect finishes, can be used in individual homes, villas, and in all those cases where it is necessary to respect the existing architectural design or pre-existing. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started and finished in 2009 and was exhibited for the first time, towards the end of the same year, in Made fair in Milan. Live has been selected for Adi Index in 2009 to partecipate at Compasso d'Oro, has been selected to be exposed in Italian pavillon in Expo 2010 in Shanghai and won Red Dot Design award in 2010. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The production of windows Live is a mix of automated production and superior craftsmanship. An even mix of materials: wood, glass, aluminum, fiberglass, mineral alloys. In particular, the central node extremely reduced 17mm, the smallest on the world market is made with alloys minerals, whose engineering study has allowed a high resistance to atmospheric agents. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Live window is tailor made, can be produced in any dimension TAGS: windows, design, energy saving, glass, wood, architecture, RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Typically the large windows overlook beautiful views, large gardens, patios where space is pleasing to the eye and with these assumptions clearly the window is a barrier between the interior and the external. So, the objective of the Live window is to separate without interfering, live outside also when the window is closed, feel the outside like an extension of the house and not an "outside", all without losing, even improving them, the performance of seal. CHALLENGE: The most difficult task was the miniaturization of the central node. Typically in the wood windows on sliding glass doors, especially very large ones, the central node is 110mm. Reduced it on a wooden window to only 17mm, even improving the performance of window is a historic achievement.
