DESIGN NAME: Kaos Coffe Table
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Coffee Table
INSPIRATION: Living in Iceland, the land of extremes, is the inspiration for the Kaos table. The Icelandic landscape with all its extremes of glaciers and volcanoes, for example Eyjafjallajokull, is represented in the Kaos table. The shape of the table top and shelf is a reminder of the constantly interchanging chaotic forms in the glaciers. The Kaos table with its multiform is fully functional both in the livingroom and TV room, but still sympolizes extremes in landscape and endless chaos of the glaciers and volcanes.
The design of the Kaos table is also inspired by new solutions in making the assembly visual. This new approach in unconventional sturcture is an important part of the design.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Kaos is table that is also a sculpture, forms change depending on angles.
The table is designed for living rooms and television lounges, different forms of the table top and shelf make it convenient to place magazines, remote controls etc,
The abstract pattern of the table makes it compact and easy to go around.
The table assembles in two to three minutes, it is held together with two bolts with circled nuts and two rods, this is also an important visual part of the design of the table.
