DESIGN NAME: Babele Lamp
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lighting
INSPIRATION: Design is a language to us. Our work creates connections.
Our products aim to innovate interacting with the consumer by making him protagonist, playing with him, letting him think, and most of all trying to offer a new perspective even on the simplest things.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Starting from a classic abat-jour silhouette and playing with it: disassembling it in plain sections, shuffling and putting them back in order, creating and defining light gaps.
It's an ever changing object with an innate architectural nature. A simple figure, an idea, a lamp that illuminates and inspires creativity.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Interaction is key in Babele lamp, the whole concept is based upon the evolving of its figure and the chance it offers to play with its outline.
The wooden sections are completely movable and it is up to the user to decide the shape of the object. They can be re-assembled in any order and direction,
thus allowing the user to decide whether to have a more diffused or direct light.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: It took three moths to finalize the project.
