UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Qadem Hooks is an art piece with a console function inspired by nature. It is composed of different painted green old hooks, which were used together with the Qadem (an old wooden mule's saddle back) for transporting wheat from one village to another. The hooks are attached to an old wheat thresher board, used to crush the wheat,as a base and finished with a glass panel on top.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The operation was a very straight forward procedure, creating a piece of furniture out of the Box, with pieces of wood that are out of use. The art piece is functional, attractive innovative & makes a statement

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: My collection of old traditional pieces & my mission of preserving and promoting our old crafts defines this production. This act of up-cycling was very much appreciated by our local society & visitors of Jordan. It is a way of defining our past & transforming it to a modern piece , to be used in the presence & future, with a story to tell
CHALLENGE: It was a challenge to me as a designer, to create & work on a design without cutting or changing shape of any piece of old wood. I also had to find a way of connecting all pieces without using any metal screws or nails to be nature friendly. Preserving & promoting our old heritage pieces was my mission ending in a very well appreciated piece of Art Furniture.
