DESIGN NAME: The Wave
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Global trade fair stand designfor Toyota
INSPIRATION: The idea occured when we rolled a simple sheet of A4 paper, inspired by the traditional Japanese paper-craft.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Inspired by the Japanese principle of the "active calm", the design combines rational and emotional elements into one entity. The architecture looks minimalistic and calm from the outside. Still you can feel a tremendous force radiating from it. Under its spell, you curiously glide into the interior. Once inside, you find yourself in a surprising environment bursting with energy and filled with large media walls showing energetic, abstract animations. This way, the stand becomes a memorable experience for visitors. The concept portrays the asymmetrical balance we find in nature and at the heart of Japanese aesthetics.
