| DESIGN NAME: xifix2base chair-one PRIMARY FUNCTION: Chair INSPIRATION: To develop a seating furniture collection with a new rack-system. Based on the required minimum of physics and material. Slim, but comfortable - with armrests. Harmonious from all sides, also from below. Without corners. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The rack-design is based on the required minimum of physics and material - realized by one endless pipe. The stability is achieved by the loop form. No further constructions and connections are necessary. The chair does not have any corners only curves - harmonious curves. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: It is a light chair - without ornamentations and additional constructions. He is intended for smaller apartments and offices. The minimized one pipe construction is immediately visible. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in December 2012 in Karlsruhe, Germany and finished in May 2013. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The materials are classic and lasting - metal and leather. The back and the seat adapt to the curves of the rack. The armrests are simple without an additional construction. The ergonomics of the chair was adapted to the physiognomy of an average person. The chair stands safely on a runner and two feet. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 600 mm x 600 mm x 800 mm - steel pipe - the pipe is 2,5 cm in diameter (Prototype) TAGS: Chair, slim chair, one pipe chair, pipe chair, metal pipe chair, tube chair, metal tube chair, modern chair, feng shui chair RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Experiments with wire and plasticine produce various forms. CHALLENGE: To form the one-pipe-rack with a loop that matches the ergonomics of man - under consideration of the esthetics and the feasibility. The name - xifix - is my pseudonym - - - Juergen Josef Goetzmann - alias xifix - the one man group. I studied archtitecture and worked for arcitects and interior designer. After receiving my diploma I founded Creativbuero and worked as an architect and designer. I realized projects include different boutiques, practices, medical laboratories, residential buildings, office buildings, exhibitions, exhibtion stands etc. |
