RESEARCH ABSTRACT: This project arose from the will both of Giovanna Talocci and Scarabeo Ceramiche to create a new range of wash basins with an extremely simple and linear design but at the same time original and fit for every setting and style. In such a difficult period for our international economy, our wish was to launch on the market a product able to "minimize" this situation, to get a smile out.
CHALLENGE: During the realization, Scarabeo's technical knowledge was essential. Scarabeo faced every obstacle arising from the manufacturing of the smooth and regular surface of the truncated cone shaped ceramics, rather hard to control. Besides, the irregularity of this material, inclining to modifications during the firing, made particularly difficult the realization of the connection between the basin and the handle/towel rail. In fact, it envisages a junction to be realized specifically for this product.
