| DESIGN NAME: paintable PRIMARY FUNCTION: Interaction Table INSPIRATION: "We believe everyone can make music, and it should be playful and creative, so we thought about "how can we let young kids who don't have any music knowledge to make their own music? UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Paintable is a multifunction table for everyone, it could be an ordinary table, a drawing table, or a musical instrument. You can use different kind of colors to paint on the table surface to create music with your friends or families, and the surface will transfer drawing to become melody by color sensors. There are two drawing ways, creative drawing and music note drawing, kids can draw anything they want to create random music or use the rule we design to fill color on specific position to make nursery rhyme. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Paintable is a multifunction table for everyone, it could be an ordinary table, a drawing table, or a musical instrument. You can use different kind of colors to paint on the table surface to create music with your friends or families, and press the play button to listen to your own music together. The experience of create and share will be the wonderful memory for all of you, because it is only belonging to you. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This project started in October 2012 and finished in January 2013, and was exhibited in Stockholm furniture fair 2013. |
