DESIGN NAME: Drilling
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Stool
INSPIRATION: The idea was to make multiple use of identical parts in order to make the production process more economical and to create formal simplicity.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: DRILLING is a three-legged stool, which is composed of three identical aluminium parts. The multiple use of the same parts creates an advantage within the production process on the one hand and a formal neatness and simplicity on the other. The three parts of the stool are connected alongside their respective outward facing surfaces. By doubling the material along the legs DRILLING gains its stability and rigidity. The seat which is formed by joining the three parts has a recess at its center, which can be used as a handle for carrying the stool. The three parts of the stool have been cut from 4mm aluminium, bent, sandblasted and anodized or powder coated.
