| DESIGN NAME: UM Collezioni PRIMARY FUNCTION: Female Top Fashion Multi- brand Store INSPIRATION: “SUITCASE” Floating Along the Fashion Stream UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The well-defined positioning of the Female Multi-Brand Concept (MT) will pull together a large customer base for all brands and enhance the image of each brand, creating synergy for all. Designers Four Lau and Sam Sum are imagining fashion represent sea, using waves as an inspiration element to create an unique shape of island display unit. With the extensive experience in searching and collecting renowned luxury brands among the sea of fashion, UM Collezioni always pick the most fashionable pieces, pack and bring them back in their SUITCASE. This makes UM Collezioni standing in the leading position as always. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Customers flowed the circulation of shop and they will find a part of the suitcase opened and closed, which can be increase the curiosity from customers. Products are placed with the wave form island display unit, everyone feels relaxed feeling, also increased their interest in the product. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: MATERIALS: Wooden veneer, PU painting, stainless steel, mirror, leather, and tiles SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: DIMENSIONS : 1355 SQ FT TAGS: UM Collezioni , SUITCASE, Female top fashion multi- brand store, Macau, AS design service ltd, Four Lau , Sam Sum, Hong Kong RESEARCH ABSTRACT: We observed a lot of the details and structure of the suitcase, to tie it on the possibility different kinds of materials, such as glossy PU painting, leather, clear mirror. We constructed the metal framing work of main structure for wall display unit with solid wooden veneer finishing; the purpose to make the wood look more slender, lightweight and reduce the risk of bending of the solid wood material. CHALLENGE: The display walls unit shelves design idea from the suitcase with variability of display combination. The mirror finishing suitcases are purposed to customers for general mirror functions and also can storage. We created a unique wave-shaped island display unit and consideration of aesthetics, proportion, structure, components, transportation, and material properties. As of 2011, we are operating approximately 120 stores in Guangdoug, Guangxi, Hunan, Hubei, Shanghai, Beijing and Macau in China, with over 1000 employees and covering a total floor area of over 200,000 square feet. Our largest store has an area 30,000 square feet. Throughout the past 20 years, we have shown our ability to overcome global difficulties, having weathered the financial crisis in 1997, the SARS epidemic in 2003 and the financial tsunami between 2008 and 2009, and come out of them even stronger and bigger. |
