INSPIRATION: Everywhere we go, we see lots of retail shops. And most of these retail shops and boutiques uses the traditional Metal Halide Lamps which uses at least 200W of energy. Imagine each of these lamps being lighted for at least 10 hours a day . . . imagine the number of carbon emission it is creating.
There must be a Low Carbon alternative!
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: DahomX was created to answer the need to replace the zillions of metal halide lamps used in retail and commercial space lighting. The demands of these lighting applications requires the light source to deliver very high luminosity and at the same time produce very good color rendering in order to make the merchandise that they are lighting look good.
DahomX utilizes Xicato XSM Artist Series LED modules, delivering the best color rendering in its class of 95 CRI, using only 35W producing 3000 lumens light output.
DahomX is a very attractively designed light fixture that is also minimalistic as it needs to be able to fit and blend into any retail environment. It’s powder coated aluminum body gives it a very professional look, whilst also housing the electronic driver, fitting it nicely into any track railing.
Available in either white, grey or black finishing, But other special color options can also be accommodated on request.
Besides saving energy and achieving aesthetic appeal, DahomX is also Low Carbon Lighting. See attached chart:

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Most retail and commercial spaces still utilizes the traditional metal halide lamps. These lamps engages up to 200W of both heat and energy. Imagine each of these lamps being used for at least 10 hours a day.
Till now, there has not been an energy saving solution to metal halide due to its demand for strong light output and need for good color rendering.
After long research into LED modules, Dahom selected Xicato’s XSM Artist Series LED Modules as they are able to produce up to 95CRI and the lamp needs only 35W energy to deliver up to 3000 lumen light output. Thus making it a perfect replacement for metal halide lamps. And emitting much lower carbon.
CHALLENGE: To create a Low Carbon LED replacement for Metal Halide Lamps.
