PRIMARY FUNCTION: Event branding
INSPIRATION: The concept was called ‘The Journey to Victory’, which was expressed by a solitary beam of light that flowed through the city to its final destination — the Stadium. The detailed pattern used the intricate structure and detailing of Romanian arts and crafts, which was then entwined and integrated within the distinctive light beam.
This was applied to a wide variety of items including match tickets, press packs, stadium signage, player interview backdrops and posters. From the moment you arrived at Bucharest airport you were confronted with strategically placed billboards and signage on transport, all creating an integrated look for the event.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This design was for the complete brand identity across all media for one of Europe’s most prestigious annual sports events, called the UEFA Europa League Final, commissioned by top soccer federation UEFA.
In 2012 the Final was held in the Romanian city of Bucharest, and our creative concept was based on an energetic beam of light seen heading towards the soccer Stadium, inside of which was a detailed pattern inspired by local Romanian arts and crafts.
This was then applied to airport posters, street banners, match tickets, press packs, as well as the stadium signage, player interview backdrops, security passes and stadium guides.
