| DESIGN NAME: Chandelier table PRIMARY FUNCTION: Side table INSPIRATION: Claire de Lune Chandelier graphic lines, and a product to complement the chandelier. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: A decorative side table that is the perfect companion to Claire de Lune Chandelier. The engravings give a lace-like pattern. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: An engineer was called in to help in creating the specially tooled parts necessary for assembly. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This project lasted approximately half a year, and was designed and produced in Copenhagen. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Furniture Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Laser cut acrylic with etching designed with inspiration from Claire de Lune Chandelier SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The side table measures 20 x 20 x 40 cm. It is flat-packed, and packaged in a reusable bag made of recyclable polypropelene. TAGS: Clear, invisible, delicate, lace pattern, side table, acrylic, lucite RESEARCH ABSTRACT: To provide an item of furniture that would complement Claire de Lune Chandelier. CHALLENGE: The idea was to use smaller (usually waste) pieces of acrylic to make a product that was not only beautiful, but functional. This side table also had to be set apart, and this was done by designing special screws, which also required a special designed tool.
