INSPIRATION: All from experience over the years, not applying traditional office-design theory
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Land is a precious asset in Hong Kong. Everyone like to fully utilize every corner of space. This office located in Quarry Bay of Hong Kong at 1,600 sq. feet. The feature of this property is that it gets a high ceiling at 4.3 meters. The owner wants to create a harmony environment to make staffs enjoy their working time like at home. Besides, he wants to make use of the high ceiling to generate more space for usage. Before those achievements, designers have to solve the problem of abundant beams at 0.5 meter height across the ceiling that people on upper deck need to bend their body to cross to another area. Finally, designer cleverly create 6 different zones for different departments and one of them is the main corridor at upper floor locate just right under the main beam, staircases are become a magic tool to access different room smoothly by moving from lower level (under the beam) to a usable level (zone in between beams). Now double up space can be used without boundary. Yet, designer also paid most effort on decorating the lobby area that giving a most warmly welcome to visitors. Designer used natural material like wood, stone, water to create an fabulous but harmony space. Last but not lease, a staff rest room has been setup to allow staffs to enjoying foot massage, playing dart, reading books, watching TV or even get a Vodka on the Rock. Owner requested this space can also act as his gallery to display his collections.... one of the treasures is Mac Classic!!!
