| DESIGN NAME: K9 Shut Eye PRIMARY FUNCTION: Dog/Cat sleeping place INSPIRATION: Observation of the natural sleeping position of dogs UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This dog bed is designed for ergonomics, easy cleaning and maintenance.It is safe for the animal and in the household, long lasting and 100% recyclable. it was designed to give a dog a comfortable and ergonomic sleeping place with the emphasis on prviding a "safe" feel by simulating a "nest"envi OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The unit is a single moulding with a metal tag attached to the top back. The tag has a field to have the name of the canine engraved giving the opportunity to have the unit personalsed with the animals name and giving the petshop the opportunity for additional income by engraving the tag PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in in 2007 in Johannesburg with initial concept designs and went into production towards the end of 2008 in Johannesburg FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Furniture Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Manufactured by rotamoulding in HDPE SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The unit is manufactured in 5 sizes 400, 600, 800, 1000 and 1200mm nominal size TAGS: dog bed, rotamoulding, ergonomic RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The concept was born out of the idea to have a easy cleanable and maintainable sleeping place for dogs and cats. The unit had to be stable and inviting for the animal to accept it as a sleeping place.
