| DESIGN NAME: Screwtop Table PRIMARY FUNCTION: Table INSPIRATION: Flatpack furniture UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This elegant table is designed to be the ultimate answer in sustainability. Flatpack furnishings are the most environmentally friendly in terms of their shipping footprint, but they are usually seen as cheaply made. This elegant table is designed to reshape how we view flatpack furniture by elevating the screw fasteners to a fetish. This beautiful, high quality table is made to be an heirloom in a society that is increasingly focused on the disposable - the ultimate statement on sustainability. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The ability to disassemble the table means that it can be shipped more efficiently, reducing its carbon footprint. Simply unscrew the table top from the four legs. The large screws on the top of the table also add an interesting and unexpected element of design to the table.
