| DESIGN NAME: Lemon slice PRIMARY FUNCTION: Necklace INSPIRATION: Nature. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This necklace is Organic ,it is an exact replica of a real lemon and seeds, handmade from 100% reclaimed metals obtained from a certefied recycling center in Downtown Los Angeles OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: - PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: it took 2 weeks to complete the project FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Fashion, Apparel and Garment Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: with the help of my Husband we were able to take the impression of a real lemon slice and its seeds and cast it into metal ,what's makes it special is the fact that it is done in an Eco friendly jewelry factory from recycled materials such as bullets, leftover copper wires and broken brass plates and candleholders,the blend is very unique and in color and feel. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: the lemon slice is1.5 inch diameter, the seeds chain is 32 inch long, the tassel attached to the slice ends with Lemon citrine briolettes TAGS: the hardest part was to obtain the slice intact since we were molding a real juicy Lemon slice. RESEARCH ABSTRACT: - CHALLENGE: The challenge was how to maintain the realistic look of the lemon with all its veins , the natural flow and specially the zest.
