PRIMARY FUNCTION: Inflate upon impact and cushionin
INSPIRATION: The inspiration behind the jacket consept stems from the dire consequences of hip fractures resulting from slips, a severe issue among elderly women, particularly those with osteoporosis. This jacket serves as a crucial piece of wearable technology, designed to be lightweight and easy to wear, composed of simple components. Its creation is driven by the urgent need to address the vulnerability of elderly individuals in society, especially in the context of respecting and prioritizing the well-being.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: In the event of a fall, especially prevalent among the elderly population during winter, the intelligent jacket rapidly inflates with air. This inflation serves two crucial functions: Firstly, it cushions the impact of the fall, significantly reducing the risk of injuries, particularly those that are challenging to recover from in older individuals. Secondly, the jacket automatically initiates a phone call to emergency services, ensuring swift assistance in case of an accident.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Normal Wear: The user wears the jacket as they would any regular garment. During normal wear, the jacket remains inactive. Fall Detection: If a fall occurs, the posture recognition system within the jacket detects the sudden change in position indicative of a fall. Automatic Activation: Upon detecting a fall, the jacket's inflation mechanism is automatically activated. This triggers the rapid inflation of the airbag components within the jacket.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The jacket is a consept. Project duration and location for the development of the jacket would depend on various factors such as research and development timelines, manufacturing processes, and testing phases.
